I'm leaving on a jet plane...don't know when I'll be back again...

Well, I bought a one-way ticket to NYC, so it is official... Also, the statement in the title couldn't be more true... I really don't know when I am coming back. If all goes well, I'll be back in late August to get the rest of my stuff, and then I will go back to Manhattan.

I also found out that I am getting a grant to cover a good portion of my expenses. This whole thing is coming together and I am really excited. I can tell that this is what I am supposed to be doing right now- everything is coming together so well! I LOVE federal student aid. Pell Grants are the best thing in the world.

Here are the Top 7 reasons I am excited to fly on Jet Blue (I was going to do a Top 10, but I couldn't come up with 3 more, so if you want to suggest anything, let me know):

7. Jet blue offers excellent airplane cuisine...whatever that is...

6. Free Night Spa Kit: For your purchase of a plane ticket for a red-eye flight, you will receive a True Blue Spa Kit, which includes ear plugs, medicated lip balm, mint, and lemon-scented hand cream... But wait... that's not all... With your purchase of a Jet Blue ticket, you will also receive the exclusive Jet Blue Eye Cover, perfect for snoozing away on an overnight adventure!

5. Why waste time? Jet Blue now offers overnight service directly to New York City. No need to waste your valuable daylight hours on a plane... Fly at night, play in the day... Those regular day flights: Fuhgettaboutit!

4. Fly directly to NYC, no need to stop in busy airport hubs. Jet Blue will save you time and stress, and probably money, since you wont have the chance to stop at any of those airport gift shops.

3. Do you hate getting stuck in the middle seat? Jet Blue offers a "select your own seat" option at the time of purchase. Me? I picked a window... perfect for resting your head...

2. Jet Blue now offers more leg room in rows 1-9. You know, not that I need it or anything, but it is still nice to have that space. If I wanted to do a Helen Madden type kick...I could. I probably wont, as it is most likely socially unaccpetable.

1. Jet Blue offers a Direct TV option. There are more channels than you can imagine! Be sure to turn to channel 1, which tracks the flight on a map. Now you can always now which state you are flying over...

Updating, about things that actually happened to me and not just nonsense

I am sorry to report that nothing of monumental importance has happened to me lately. I think it is because I may or may not have become somewhat boring. Last week was good, it went by pretty fast. I did get to go up to BYU-Idaho with Karson and Haylie for a career fair. It was fun, except for that whole talking for six hours straight thing and the unbearable cold thing. I don’t understand how anyone can live there. The cold is awful. I also got to see Julia Gulia. That is not really her last name. She was one of my fellow Kauai interns. It was good to catch up on old times and laugh about the incredibly ridiculous world of ballroom dance.
I finally got my ballroom dress… Just in time for Nationals. I love it. The only downside is that every time I touch it, like 10 rhinestones fall off. I spent a large portion of my evening (or the duration of 2.5 Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) reinforcing each rhinestone, and I expect to work on it for at least the duration of Home Alone and Employee of the Month.
Other than that, I went to the ward talent show, changed Steve and Josh’s lives by introducing them to Kneader’s French toast breakfast, changed Amy’s life by taking her to CafĂ© Rio, and went to see two movies.

One of those was Step Up 2: The Streets… It was actually quite good (the dancing, not the acting). I liked it way better than the first, but I think it probably had to do a lot with the kind of dancing, and also that they danced to “Low” which is constantly stuck in my head… You know- the apple bottom jeans and the boots with the fur... the furrr- that song.
I also went to see August Rush again- this time, I only paid a dollar. Yes… I will miss the dollar theater, but I suppose there will be other (and perhaps more entertaining things) in NYC that will make up for my loss.

Ideally, in Manhattan...

I would like to meet Adam Pascal... You never, know, not a ton of people know who he is. Maybe he could be my neighbor. Stranger things have happened... I have a friend who lives next door to Alicia Keys (or so he says)... Maybe I'll run into him at Starbucks, or at the final show of RENT. Let's hope so.

In Cyber Land we only drink Diet Coke...

I like to think you all are very interested in my thought process, which may or may not be true, but here is something I thought of this morning:

Now, I wish I was the one who came up with this. All I can say is that the person who did is probably sitting on a pretty big paycheck. Talk about good use of imagery. Apparently the new Diet Coke capaign targets women... how original.

Anyway, I cannot tell you how true this is of the people who work at Del Sol. Just this morning, I obeserved four people who grabbed a soda (Mountain Dew Code Red also inculded) for breakfast. I think I will come in early on Tuesday and keep an official tally. Now I am really curious.

Also, with some inspiration by Meg Cabot, I've decided to post this next part:

Jonathan Rhys Meyers: Hot or Not?

I believe one more recognition is in order....

Friend of the week goes to Rachel Law for being the only one who actually makes comments on my blog. Here she is with her son, Nathan.

I am in desperate need of summer...

Right now, I would love some sun and 90 degree weather, and maybe some POG and banana pancakes. And, if possible, some shave ice from the guy at Big Save in Kapa'a. Also, I would love nothing more than to be at the Hyatt Resort in Kauai and read in one of those hammocks that are right on the beach. One day.... I'll go back. See picture: Is it not heavenly???

I dream about... Jurassic Park

When I was little, I used to dream about falling off a cliff, which explains my dislike for certain hikes and also cliffs. I finally figured out what my dream meant and it makes sense.

Now, I have a reoccuring dream about dinosaurs... I mean really, what kind of meaning could that possibly have? Perhaps it is my constant worry that most people think dinosaurs come mostly from the Jurassic period, which is actually not true (they mostly come from the Triassic period... I paid attention in Geology A.K.A. The best class ever).

Kyra told me about her dream where she was dead and also alive at the same time, and Sweeny Todd was trying to kill her. Ben had a dream about his brother and a shark attack. They both figured there was some truth to their dreams, so I am guessing my dinosaur dream must mean something.... I mean, you can't make stuff like that up.

Oh, and the barista at the local Starbucks does, in fact, look like Patrick Dempsey.

I want to be just like Meg Ryan

When I move to New York, I am going to listen to the Cranberries song "Dreams" everyday on my way to work...just like Meg Ryan does in You've Got Mail as she walks around the Upper West Side. Of course, in the movie, the song is non-diagetic, meaning the characters can't hear the song, but in real life it will be diagetic... and more importantly, it will be AWESOME.

Go Giants!

I am not going to lie... I wouldn't call myself a football enthusiast by any means, but I do enjoy watching the Super Bowl. I don't really follow NFL Football at all, except for the last couple of weeks before the Super Bowl. I never usually care who wins, with the exception of this year. I am so sick of the Patriots... I am glad the Giants won! There may or may not have been some celebrating at my apartment....
For me, one of the most enjoyable parts of the Super Bowl is the amount of commercials that run during the game. Hello... advertising major, remember? It intrigues me how much companies are willing to pay for a 30 second spot. I was even really surprised to see local commercials on during the 3rd quarter... I have to say that my favorite commercial was definitely the Life Water commercial with the geckos (or lizards, or salamanders, or whatever they were) dancing to Thriller... So my friends, for those of you who missed it, here is a little treat...
Since I actually don't know how to load a video from You Tube onto my blog, here is the link

And for good measure....
