I fixed it...
The very whinny among you (i.e. Wingman, Karene, Megan) have commented on the rather large size of my blog header, therefore, using my Photoshop talents, I have reduced the size of the image. Happy?
Tagged...again
I was tagged by the lovely Allison Maughan (now Clarke). I think I've answered this before, but let's be honest... How else am I supposed to make it through the end of my workday?
5 Things I was doing 5 years ago:
Sophomore at BYU, applying for the advertising program
Taking my very first ballroom dance class
Applying for a counselor position with BYU’s SOAR camp
Learning how to beat Jonathan Snow in NERTS
Hanging out with amazing R46 roomies and the C1 boys
5 Things on my to do list for today:
Order Chips Ahoy spots and send them out to networks
Send out estimates to clients
Eat an apple
Check my bank account...which is a depressing thing to do...
Go to the Broadway Impact meeting
5 Things I would do with a million dollars:
Travel everywhere
Buy a house.
Buy mom a house
Go to grad school
Save the rest
5 Places I have lived:
San Jose, Costa Rica
Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Provo, UT
Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii
New York, NY
5 Jobs I have held:
Dairy Queen Ice Cream Shop
Nanny
BYU Bookstore
Product Development Assistant
Traffic Coordinator (which has nothing to do with actual traffic and a lot to do with advertising)
5 Things I want to be doing in 5 Years:
Married
Be a good mom.
Be living in a house.
Continue learning ballroom
Continue working on painting (oh yes, in case you don’t know... I paint)

They need your votes!
People,
I know my blog may not have much of a readership but, if you have a few minutes, head on over to seriouslysoblessed.blogspot.com. Our very own TAMN is giving away a make over and two of my dear friends are finalists (Emily and Tiffany). Both are amazing women who have just gone through some serious trials and could use a pick-me up. Vote for them (or one of the other AMAZING finalists)!!!
More later.

Snow pictures for Mutti (aka mom)
Mommy,
Here are your pictures of Central Park covered in snow. Be grateful, because I walked around for 4 hours on the middle of a snow storm to take these for you... but I do this because I love you.

Tiaras and Teeny Boppers
I had a blast attending the Meg Cabot event though I felt a bit ridiculous being the only person who:
A. Was not 15-ish
B. Was not a crazy librarian
C. Was not accompanying a child

Still, it was fun to hear Meg talk about the Princess Diaries series (which I have never read). It was also fun to see all the cute little girls dressed up as princesses. Meg also presented the tiaras that would be going up for auction, with proceeds benefiting the youth programs at the New York Public Library. Some of these were really beautiful while others left me wondering why anyone would glue crap on a tiara and think it looked good, but whatevs.

After a REALLY long Q&A, Meg signed copies of her books and the Switchblade Kittens (aka the lamest band, possibly ever) played songs that were "inspired" by Meg's books (aka they stole all the song titles from Meg's books).
We all left with Vera Wang gift bags which included a whole lot of pointless flyers and a lip gloss/perfume combo, which I like.

Soon, the event began with this random guy from the NYPL wearing a tiara... If you look closely at the bottom, right corner of the screen, you can see me...

The room filled up quickly...

My favorite tiara was designed by Austin Scarlett from Project Runway (the one with the big feather)

I got my copy of Big Boned signed, as it is one of my favorites...

Yes, they are serious about their wardrobe choices... I think a grand total of 5 people actually sat down to listen to them, which is kind of sad when you think about it.

Yeah...and some people are even having a hard time paying RENT!
Check out this SNL skit of all the Broadway show closings... So, so funny and tragically true at the same time...
As Jack Black says in The Holiday, one of my favorite movies:
"Totally bril"

Pleasant voice mail
OK...so my two least favorite things about my job are:
#1- I have the pleasure of checking the agency's voice mail which is annoying because I am really not a phone person... unless your name is He Who Shall Not be Named in This Blog...then I like talking to you. Sometimes. But really, I get a lot of voice mail from telemarketers and it is not fun going trough 45 messages each morning.
#2- Everyone thinks I work at Bravo, the TV network... which I don't. I work at The Bravo Group, the advertising agency.
Well, this morning, I got in... got my chamomile tea, went to status, postponed listening to my voice mail as soon as possible and then when I finally went through it, this is what I got:
Message received 1/10/09 at 7:04PM
Hello. My name is ________ (inaudible) and I wanted to know if I could do a TV show with Bravo about my family- a reality TV show or something like that. If you can please call me back at my house phone 718-293-2xxx (I really couldn't hear the last 3 digits) or you can also e-mail me at OGBigDog123@yahoo.com. Please and thank you very much.

Hello. My name is _______ (again, inaudible) I called yesterday. I'm sorry for calling on a Sunday, but I really want to know if Bravo can do a TV reality show about my family. If you can please call me back at my house phone 718-293-2xxx (again, I really couldn't hear the last 3 digits) or you can also e-mail me at OGBigDog123@yahoo.com. Please and thank you very much.
I wish somehow I could get the actual voice mail off my phone and on my blog. This guy sounds drunk out of his mind.

Happy new year
* That's actually the title of a Rent song...
I was tagged on this, but since I don't have my pictures organized by albums, I just picked the fourth picture in the fourth row in my iphoto library. Technically, you are supposed to post the fourth picture in your fourth album.
This is me with Anthony Rapp who was Mark Cohen in the Rent original Broadway cast and the movie version. This was after the final Rent show. Ashley and I had just barely met like 15 minutes before and then we headed down to Chelsea Piers for the after party with Eric, Meredith and Allison. Can't remember what Anthony and I were talking about.
I tag Em-Diddy AKA Emily Tagg and the Denneys.

Who wants to spend Christmas in tropical climate anyway?
First of all, if you can tell me which movie the quote that is acting as the title of this post is from, you will win the award of Friend of the Week...
Secondly...
I'm baa-ck... but not necessarily by choice. Remember how nice the weather was everyday that I was in Florida? Remember how we actually had to blast the AC? It was so wonderful to get away from the cold and to go spend time with my family. Mostly, I hung out with Abue (my grandma) during the day and with my mom and sister when they got home from work.
It was an exhausting break though. We had visitors nearly every day. My mom's cousin and his two sons were in town the first weekend. It was fun to have them there and to be able to show them around South Florida. The only downside was that they were very interested in going to the Sawgrass Mills Mall (AKA HELL) and we ended up spending like 45 years in there while Gabo and Daniel looked for gifts for their girlfriends. Still, it was good to hang out with fellow Costa Ricans.
We all headed up to my brother's house in Fort Myers and met up with Aunt Kat and her family. Downside here was that the baby got a 24-hour virus, so naturally, every single person in my family got sick... with the exception of my sister and I. We attribute our good health to positive thinking/karma/being awesome. We haven't decided which. Probably the last one.
The second week, I stayed with Esteban, Jessica (Esteban's wife) and Rodrigo (baby, named after my Uncle Rodrigo). I am glad I got to do that because I was able to get to know Jessica a lot more and spend a ton of time with the Munchkin (aka Rodrigo).
I'm sad Christmas is over. It has been such a long time since the family has been able to get together for the holidays. I am glad my grandma's visa got worked out. That was truly a Christmas miracle. We all had so much fun.
Abue and I at Sanibel Island... My second favorite place... at least until I travel to Europe, then it may get bumped down.
Ft. Lauderdale Beach with Daniel and Gabo.
Hideous picture, but the only one where all four of us got in the frame.
Christmas Eve dinner. So good. We got Miguel to join us again, which I guess is now sort of a tradition.
I just like my house a lot. My mom did a great job designing the living room.
I was going to say decorate, but I remembered Jeff will disown me as a friend if I use that term as it refers to interior design.
That baby wins favorite person of the year. No battle. He has this new thing where he chews on his hand all the time because he is teething. So precious.
