A. Was not 15-ish
B. Was not a crazy librarian
C. Was not accompanying a child
Soon, the event began with this random guy from the NYPL wearing a tiara... If you look closely at the bottom, right corner of the screen, you can see me...

The room filled up quickly...

Still, it was fun to hear Meg talk about the Princess Diaries series (which I have never read). It was also fun to see all the cute little girls dressed up as princesses. Meg also presented the tiaras that would be going up for auction, with proceeds benefiting the youth programs at the New York Public Library. Some of these were really beautiful while others left me wondering why anyone would glue crap on a tiara and think it looked good, but whatevs.
My favorite tiara was designed by Austin Scarlett from Project Runway (the one with the big feather)

I got my copy of Big Boned signed, as it is one of my favorites...
After a REALLY long Q&A, Meg signed copies of her books and the Switchblade Kittens (aka the lamest band, possibly ever) played songs that were "inspired" by Meg's books (aka they stole all the song titles from Meg's books).
Yes, they are serious about their wardrobe choices... I think a grand total of 5 people actually sat down to listen to them, which is kind of sad when you think about it.

We all left with Vera Wang gift bags which included a whole lot of pointless flyers and a lip gloss/perfume combo, which I like.
