day 7: a picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you
i couldn't possibly just pick one thing. so much in this world inspires me to be me. to be a better person. to aspire higher. to make a difference. to stand up for my beliefs. to dream. to accomplish.
here are a few of the millions of things that have had an impact on me at some point:
i loved visiting pearl harbor. i remember visiting there and seeing this wall just put such a tangible piece of evidence on the table for me. I've always known how terrible that day was, but seeing all these names was a hard thing to do. it made me grateful to have a brother who served his country to preserve our freedom, peace and way of life.
talk about a hideous picture of me. yikes. these two made my time at byu unforgettable. best friends. for the rest of my life.
being an aunt is an amazing thing. i love seeing how he grows, changes and develops as a person. unfortunately, i see the more obvious changes, as i am not there to see his everyday progress, but it is still rewarding to see how he has become such a large presence in our family.
i love this jerk. best sister ever.
the two most amazing women i know with the most amazing munchkin around.
this kid pretty much said "step up, or step out." i stepped up and i don't think i would have cared so much about my friends and their fight for equality if he hadn't asked me to care. no one had ever asked me that before and it took a lot of evaluating and thinking and i am glad he made me think.
any day that i can walk with my friends onto capital hill and support them in their fight for equal rights and protection under the law, is a day worth mentioning. this sight feels like something straight out of a movie.
and lastly, there is this. i got there all by myself. what a dream.
