to let my friends know that i love and support them. that despite my religious beliefs, i know that they are God's children and that He loves them unconditionally. i marched because i believe that despite their choice, they deserve to be treated as equals under the law. i marched because i don't believe that it is my place to dictate someone's happiness. i marched because hate crimes are unacceptable. because things like that cannot happen. i marched because our brothers and sisters of the LGTB community are human and deserve to be treated as such. i marched because members of the LGTB community are kind hearted people who deserve to stop being treated like second class citizens. and even though i support the Church's stance on marriage, i believe in loving everyone equally.
i had an amazing time in DC. i had never been there before and i was kind of in a daze for many reasons, the main one being lack of sleep. but also because as gav (gavin creel) says, it was the coolest possible reason to be in DC. as i marched onto capitol hill and looked back to the mall and all the way to the washington monument, i thought "this is the civil rights movement of our time." it felt historic.
i didn't actually see much more than capitol hill, so the roomies and i are thinking of going back and seeing everything. gav also made me promise to visit the holocaust museum. not a hard one to agree to. i HAVE to see it.

lady gaga: "obama, are YOU listening?"

baby claude. who is baby claude, you might ask? click here to find out. (so gav plays the role of claude in HAIR, and is the main singer in that song, thus the name baby claude).
